ABOUT THE RETREAT
Teresa Verney's holiday at Monte da Japonica will have a plan of singing through the mornings, and early evening, with time for resting, walking, swimming and exploring the locality in the afternoons. The food will be locally sourced, home cooked and delicious: and for those who like it, some very special local wine will be available. Once it’s dark there is the chance to sit under a star spangled sky, round a fire pit if it’s cool.
Singing brings people together in a unique way. Combine this with a lot of laughter and many long term friendships are forged over the week. You will return home with memories of the beauty of the Alentejo region of Portugal, and several lovely songs that you have learned and sung together.
ABOUT YOUR INSTRUCTOR
Teresa has been leading singing holidays in beautiful places in the UK and abroad for about 20 years. Her holidays are open to all, regardless of singing ability, as she teaches everything by ear and makes a particular point of supporting those who are less confident. She chooses songs from the world wide aural tradition, including ones she composes herself. She is a member of the Natural Voice Network and works within their guidelines of inclusivity and accessibility, passionately believing that everyone should have the chance to sing.
